Sully Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 We'll have to get interest to beyond "once a month".... Ok, lets do this properly without "mail bombing" or other nasty stuff. Ideas on how to get this done can be herd on this topic. Foolish nasty ideas will be removed.
guyverfanatic Posted September 24, 2003 Author Posted September 24, 2003 Whoo you sticky-fied my thread, thanks!!! All I can think of at the moment, is you guys (and gals) to join the AnimeOnDVD forums and voice your opinion in my thread, it will be much appreciated and show that loyal guyver fans do exist.

All I can think of at the moment, is you guys (and gals) to join the AnimeOnDVD forums and voice your opinion in my thread, it will be much appreciated and show that loyal guyver fans do exist. N.P. Been done and got some things off my chest I've been wanting to say to that company for awhile. Hi EisoSome times for some odd reason Viz has a habit of shoting itself in the foot. I've lived in Ireland, England and Wales from time to time. And while Anime gernally is unknown those who know of it know of the Manga Uk releases Guyver while none of them knew Viz was even around selling comics. Any import Comic shop, the likes of Forbidden Planet for one had posters about new releases of the Manga vids of Guyver and they sold well. Often in the top 10 of anime sold. But there was never once anything simular from Viz, marketing is NOT one of Viz's strong points. And the covers used in the comics where poorly chosen for the Guyver with pictures not related to the contents inside. After having one of the most popular Guyver sites on the net you hear things and this is the same from what I've herd in the USA. Watched the anime, "oh there was a comic"???? Next this is a quote in the last comic released of Guyver from Viz "With this issue, BIO-BOOSTER ARMOR GUYVER liyrtslly ends with a bang! The GUYVER will be one haitus until further notice. We Will miss you, loyal Guyver fans! See you in the funny papers...." What does "seee you in the funny papers..." mean??? Is it a way of saying "get lost Guyver fans"? After buying every comic it was not a nice thing to read from Viz. Then I've been told that at one time Viz had a meeting with another comic company about the rights to the Guyver. Considering it only warents a "once a month e-mail" and most not have sold well why did Viz refuse to sell the rights to another company? Strange thing is my site gets visited 200+ times a day. They do not do it because they like me they do it because they love the Guyver and are straved for information about it. And if Viz will not give it to them others will. Book 8 has been translated by a friend of mine and I'll make sure his site gets traffic and we'll avertise where to get book 8 from too. So either way we'll get what we want. Though it would be so much nicer to get it all in one nice book, cheaper too. But after waiting 6+ years, I'll not wait much longer. Regards, Brian Admin of www.warriorguyver.com Well it's the truth at least as I see it.
guyverfanatic Posted September 25, 2003 Author Posted September 25, 2003 You da man Brian. That was very well said.
Guest Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Yes, Viz had that one coming for a long time. I had my earthshaking experiance with the Viz retard inspired haitus(spelling) about two years ago when I bought the other six guyver books that I didn't have you see I bought book 2 about three years before that but stopped buying the books because; 1. I could'nt find them ANYWHERE. 2. There were other things at the time I needed and wanted more. But I would be a very happy man if I could just get my hands on the entire series, oh god, what kind marketing execs do they have the rejects from Uncle Carls Clown School for the insane. Okay I'm better now see.
Guest Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Maybe we should also mention the people who buy the whole bloody series but can't understand anything the book says. If we are devoted enough to buy a book that we can't even read then imagine how fast a translated Guyver Manga would be consumed. I'd bet it would be record breaking time...hehehe....

LOL, if we could get the word out fast enough (if they were English), I am sure (well hopefully) that they would sell well enough to keep translating.

And I visit this site for more than that one reason, I have a great respect for someone who will go this far in pursuit of something that he enjoys. So thank you for a place not only to learn, but discuss our hobbies.
Guest Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Sully, I have to say I admire the amazing self restraint you showed when sending that letter. I'am absolutely sure that if it had been one of us it would have turned into an incoherent continous string of insults.
