Guest Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 (edited) http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/59504088 Now is this just the inside of that guyver novel we talked about, or isit something new? Is that a prototype guyver design in the 2nd pic, just at the inside edge of the lefthand side page? Do i spy love hearts at the end of chapter 10 and 52 in the 3rd pic? And why is chapter 66 titled MIZUKI and SHIZU? Could this be Doujinshi? Edited August 21, 2003 by Guest
Guest Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 I believe that is an incover picture of Sho Fukumachi (Sp?) wether or not its from that novel I don't know. That second picture in my opinion looks like a concept drawing page and if that Guyver looks like the Guyver 1 it doesn't look different to me, though then again I haven't read the manga. And finally that Misuki & Shizu thing could be interepeted as anything, of course in the minds of guys today we automatically assume a bit of YURI is in the works, but it could mean that they're working together to achive some common goal, but I don't know because I don't have the pleasure to be able to read or write Japanese, so I can't read the Manga or this Novel.
Guest Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 the only reason i mention the shizu/mizuki thing is cos' unless the novel is WAYY different than the manga, those two dont really communicate that much, so a whole chapter devoted to the two of them is interesting. Come on Sully where are you? being the only guy here with a copy of the novel, you're the only one who can tell us what this thing is!! HELP US!
Guest Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 If I had my guess, I'd say they were concept/production notes. The drawing of Sho is in the style that was used for the first volume of the story. Same with one of the drawings of Guyver 1. Look at the base of the horn, those are not red orbs, but mechanical pieces, just like in the first four chapters before Guyver one met enzyme. That guyver in the crack of the spine looks like a concept, what our beloved hero may have ended up looking like if it was chosen. Honestly though, I have no real clue. It would help to read Japanese.
Guest Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Hi there. Being a seller of Doujinshi, I wondered if you could advise me of something - is this a doujinshi? http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/59504088 As far as i am aware, it is, but i cannot be sure. Do you know for certain whether it is or not? If it is, can you get a copy? And if so, how much would it cost with shipping to the UK? with Regards, Steve. Hello. Yes, that is a doujinshi, but it's an old one and not in our stock at the moment. Thanks for your interest in our store. Phil Thats a copy of the email i sent and reply i recieved from a seller of Doujinshi on ebay, which would seem to confirm that it IS a doujinsh, abeit a pretty old one. so, at last we know that a guyver doujinshi does exist! It makes me wonder though, is it text based or comic style?
guyverfanatic Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Bah! Who cares I would buy it either way! Even I can't read kanji.
Guest Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Kanji aint that hard, I know most of the basic Kanji, I just get stuffed on the rest. Thats why I'm going to take lessons.
Sully Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 No idea what that is, but at 300 yen it's less that 5 USD so I've asked my sister to get it for me (hopefully she can). It's not for the book or any doujinshi I've seen before.
Guest Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Woo-hah! I won the Auction! What're the laws governing the posting of scanned doujinshi pages? Anyone know?
Guest Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Congrats As for the laws of scaning doujinshi pages? Are there any?
Sully Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 I don't think there is any unless it was offically from Takaya....
Guest Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Probebly the same as fan art and fan fiction. It might be good to get the authors permission. Was the seller the author? Since it's douji, it should be MUCH easier to get a hold of. I'm pretty sure they'll say yes when you do, and will probebly be kind of flattered to hear about it from you
Guest Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 The only problem with what Young guyver is saying is that it's an extremely obscure doujinshi, probably made in the early 90's or late 80's in japan. Tracking down a way to contact the author could be a real pain. In any case I wouldn't worry too much about it. People put Doujinshi pics up on the internet all the time. Doujinshi are essentially the same as fanfiction but with pictures. If your really worried about this you can try to track down the author but unless you have some master detective skills I doubt youll find them easily.
