Guest Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Armored Core: Dark Plus Chapter 1: A Pilot's Folly With a booster thrust the middle weight AC glided out of the way as a machine gun spat out bullets at where it had just been standing, the wall of the warehouse was soon lined with holes from the bullets that easily ripped through it like it was swiss cheese. Calmly the pilot of the AC raised its right arm and fired two rounds from the WG-mk3-Karasawa Laser Rifle; they struck the weakly armored MT in its awkward looking legs and chest, causing it to go up in flames before exploding into a million pieces. The AC was a middle weight class mecha with a sleak aerodynamic form, its core looked like that of some kind of fighter jet and its head was of a unquie design, a custom made part, it resembled a the head of a hawk in most ways but was sleaker and seemed to grow from the AC itself like it wasn't so much installed into it, but rather scupltered from the core itself. Both the legs and arms were of middle weight class and used little energy and were optermised for agility while having a decent amoung of AP. The body of the AC was painted light brown but was trimmed with silver. It was the AC known as the Warhawk. In its right arm it carried a Karasawa laser rifle and equipped into its left arm was a laser sword that sprouted flashing blue white blade that swished everytime it was released. It also carried one single back weapon, another custom made part and the signature weapon of the Warhawk. A twinlink chain gun with double the ammo of two normal chain guns and increased stopping power. This was not to mention all the other optinal parts that it buzzed with. "Die RAVE!" The pilot turned the AC and looked up, and there standing on a cat walk was a slightly better MT, when compared to the ones that the Raven had slaughtered. Missile pods on both shoulders opened up on the MT and fired at the AC. Inside the ****pit the pilot smirked as he pulled a trigger on the control sticks. Suddenly multiple lasers fired from the sides of his shoulders and picked off each missile at a safe distance. The twin link chain unfolded and a second or two later there was a beep that signaled the lock on had been established, the pilot squeezed the trigger and a hail storm of bullets sailed through the air and ripped into the MT, causing it to jerk back into the railing behind it, which promptly gave away under the greater weight and fell to the warehouse floor below and exploded. The sound of a gate opening drew the pilot's attention to the entrance of the warehouse and seconds later he saw three motorcycle MT's racing towards him, with machine guns mounted on the 'head' of the MT's firing at him. The pilot charged at the MT's, using the booster to add extra speed to the AC. When it was close enough the pilot activated the mecha's laser sword and wiexecuted three quick slashes. Stopping at the other side of the MT's the pilot turned the laser sword off and as he did, each of the Motorcycle MT's exploded in balls of fire. "Now I've got you!!" The AC turned around so quickly that it caught the MT that had seemingly snuck up on it off guard and gave the pilot enough time to bring his Karawasa around and fire a couple of rounds into it. The MT had been a humanoid shape with machine gun and missile pods, but now it was nothing more then a smoke hunk of junk. "All too easy" the pilot said smugly as he turned the AC and started to walk away. "It's not over yet" the pilot stopped and searched for the source of the voice and couldn't see anything, but then out of the shadows a beam of white hot energy shot out and punched right through the AC's core in a micro second, leaving a big gapping hole in the AC. It stood there, seemingly frozen, then after what felt like hours the AC collasped to the ground in a heap, all the systems except for life surport and communications shut down and plunged the pilot into total darkness. Then an AC walked out of the shadows, it was at least four feet taller then the Warhawk with was as tall as most AC's got, and it was bristling with all kinds of weapons, too many. It should have been so heaviy that it shouldn't havce been able to move, but it did. The monster AC was jet black all over and the eyes of its AC Head glowed red. "How?" the Raven stammered. "Your not invincible" the other pilot spoke coldly. The the monster AC walked away, the steps growing fainter and fainter as the pilot reach down with his hand, only to pull it back a second later, it was covered in blood that flowed freely from the wound, weakening the pilot quickly, when he looked down, he saw that the hole was as big as a basket ball. He listened to the sounds around him, but the were growing fainter, along with the noise of his life support system and heart beat, which was slowing down with every beat. Defeatedly, the pilot slumped back into the pilot chair and he took his final breath, then seconds later the sweet release of death came and darkness took his mind. * * * Suddenly he shot awake in a hospital bed, his back aching upwards, but he could not move his arms or legs for they were strapped to the bed rather tightly, and a plastic was stuck down his throat helping him to breath, though he didn't really need it now. Then it suddenly dawned on him. He was still alive....... To Be Continued. Quote
