H222G981
So, I'm going over G2:Dark Hero piece by piece. He's constantly nagging at Corey's head over things he already knows and he's pissing her off in the process. Sean has nothing to lose, so I don't know why he keeps playing stupid and asking for intel in which he already knows about from the first film. It almost seems as though the screen writers had no idea what kind of conversation Sean and Corey should have. What is silly is that he keeps pushing Corey over dumb questions about zoanoid skeletons and even more questions as of why her crew is secret about it and they have given him good reasons why they don't talk about it. They honestly don't know what they're looking at, yet he persists. It's almost as though the second film is settling on the fact that Sean is lacking in the common sense department. Instead of answers, Corey threatens to kick him out of the camp. Couldn't Sean just look around for more answers than ask for someone who knows a lot less than he does? For example, Corey has no clue that Chrono funds the dig. She has no idea what Zoanoids are until the end of the movie, and she probably knows even less on what a G Unit is. So.....Why is Sean testing her? If anything, he's attracting the wrong kind of attention. Edited May 28, 2016 by Mercer
Sully
Sean was lacking in common sense in the first movie.... Hes just continuing on as the character was designed.
*V Guyver
I was always thinking he was playing an obviously too stupid a person to try and stay under the radar. Obviously he kept giving himself away in the process, especially when he first transformed,
Gray5
He was very annoying. It was all what does she know/what does he know. I also didn't like the whole bit about how he cannot control it and "it kills" not him.

Well, unlike the Manga/Anime/OAV versions the Live Action is an actual full time symbiote... similar to say Carnage of Marvel Comics. The sense of power it provides, at the very least, could be similar to being high on drugs or at least adrenaline... While, like Sully pointed out, he's kinda written that way from the first movie as they made him sort of a stereotypical American teenager, hyped up on hormones, and they're usually portrayed with a hefty dose of denial and angst, especially when dealing with girls ;-p Getting rejected by his first GF probably didn't help either in the second movie... If the time and budget had allowed, they'd probably have had him try to get therapy and put on medication to deal with "it" ;-p And of course, show the psychologist as a patient in the psych ward afterward ;-p
McAvoy
I always associated it to bad script. He was playing dumb to get answers but not to give away that he knows more than he should. Of course the script didn't really convey it that well.
