Pokémon, it's well know around the world, has a trading card game that's still circulating to this day, and has it's own anime series.  I'm pretty sure most of us a familiar with the series on here, or at leas the video game itself.

Let's talk game play, cards, Pokémon, or whatnot!  Anyone got any good memories with this? Favorite Pokémon critter?

I'll say this as someone who played the first (Red) when it was first released ages ago (OG Pokemon Master! 8-) ): I dislike the newer games. Too many Pokemon in total, but too many old ones making comebacks as well.

I liked the originals limit of 150 that you knew it was part of the game. They were all original at the time, and everyone seemed to have different strengths and weaknesses.

Like any series, time and too many iterations can weaken a franchise for certain people, and I am one of them. Don't get me wrong though, I have friends who have all the games, and still love them.

If I had to pick a favorite though, it's gotta be Raichu. Always like the design more than others, and was always my #1 Lighting attacker ( was the ONE major thing I like from X/Y Haha...)

And as for the card game... I am more of a Yu-Gi-Oh fan. ^^;

Love Pokemon.

Grew up with it, with trading cards at school and playing Pokemon Yellow on my lime green Gameboy Colour. I remember I caught Mewtwo with a Pokeball and my Pikachu was level 100 (without the use of rare candies). Unfortunately, that game and my gameboy were stolen out of my bag at school. I still have Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium on N64.

I had Blue and Crystal too. When I was around 14 I was playing the VBA emulator with the classic games and some newer ones (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald). Over the years I got into FireRed/LeafGreen but nothing would ever be as good as R/B/Y or G/S/C.

Favourite Pokemon would have to be Scyther.

I'm actually currently working on my own hack of Pokemon Red. It's taken me awhile to get accustomed to assembly language, but I'm working it out with some help.

Might post a beta version of it once I add some more things to it, if anyone is interested.
