Mirabilis Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Okay, this may be controversial and the subject of name calling (or racial terms) is not why I posted this, but it is this conversation in the comments that people were having and things that were being said back and forth to each other that really was just mind-boggling and I've known quite a few people who feel this way too. I'm so sick of all this racism crap, people need to get the focus off of race and onto the situation in the White House (or main body of government). Stop focusing on skin color and focus on ethics, focus on the laws, focus on the political scandals. Racism serves nothing but to divide the citizens of the country. Don't play into those games. HAVING SAID THAT: I came across this and I'm just speechless. I can't believe what I have read, seriously people can't really think this way can they? I mean, no one can be THIS stupid and illogical right? Talk about ultimate hypocrisy and bigotry. So apparently, according to this person, every single white person is automatically racist, every single white person is responsible for racism, every single white person needs to die (or pay for racism) and no one can ever be racist to a white person, when white people whine about racism, they're mocking real racism against others...this really made me want to bang my head into a wall, because of how stupid this person is. Here is everything she said: (You can find it in the comments in the video)"White people have created the n word to dehumanize and degrade black people. The black community has come and reclaimed the slur and made it into a positive. Even if you think youre not a reflection of your ancestors, you’re a white person and that word carries weight. Non-black pocs can not say it either. And why the hell do you want to say a word that offends such a large population of people? You do realize that nigger/nigga was used to degrade a black person pretty much every time that they were beaten, whipped, kidnapped, raped, ect? No one's segregating you. Leave us alone. You whites have taken everything from us, you want our culture, slang, all of it, but I'm standing up for it and saying no, you can't.It's very inappropriate to use the term if you're not black. You do realize that the n-word was used pretty much every time a black person was beaten, whipped, kidnapped, raped, ect? You still want to see it? I can tell you lack sympathy. You whites are inhuman devils, I smegging swear. And yes, it is dehumanizing. You're definitely a racist. You're saying that n-gger isn't a bad word but as soon as someone calls you a cracker/honkey, you get defensive. smegg up.Don't you get it? It's a word used to dehumanize people, It's a racial slur. Please educate yourself. Doesn't matter if it's a word in Spanish, a mispronunciation or whatever the smegg you whites try to use as an excuse for saying it, you shouldn't be saying it PERIOD. You're ignorant. Dehumanizing means to degrade someone and basically , psychologically, strip them of their humaneness. The n-word was used pretty much every time a slave was beaten/whipped/raped ect. and I don't understand why you would still want to say it even though so many people are offended by it. I wonder why almost every single language has a word for "white devil". Because you whites are really sick and cruel, you lack empathy for others. Whites created the system, also known as racism today. Whites are the dominant race in america, they are the beneficiaries of white privilege, they are the only racial group in america that does not face oppression and they don't have a history of genocide/enslavement/ect that actively affects their daily lives. Whites are the ones that took us over to America, they are the ones at fault. As long as the whites benefit from white privilege they will always be at fault. Educate yourself, young man, google white privilege. Uh, unless you suddenly wake up and are black then don't tell us how the smegg we should use our words. Do those white people have a history of enslavement, genocide, colonialism and oppression that still affects them to this day? No. Doesn't matter if you're poor, I don't wanna smegging hear it. Even me, as a middle-class black female in 2014, I make less than a white woman with the EXACT same credentials as me and I've probably had more jobs than her. Racism is an institution. I don't understand you whites. Don't tell me what racism is and what racism isn't, I'm majoring in racial sociology and minoring in racial theology. And some of the stuff that I learn is pretty smegged up. When I'm talking about racial struggles and drenn, you never hear anything about white people because you were GIVEN the privilege from birth, it's easier for you to be accepted into society because of the color of your skin. You never have to worry about being followed around in a store because of the color of your skin. You never have to worry about being stopped/frisked in the street because of your skin. You growing up in a "poor" neighborhood or being called a cracker/honkey/whitey in 6th grade does not compare to what POC go through. Me telling you that you don't experience true racism is actually a complement. Why do white people want to go through what we go through everyday? And before you guys say that today's white people have nothing to do with slavery, you guys are the beneficiaries of the hardships that POC went through in the past. And how are present-day POC (people of color) affected by the hardships that occurred in the past? They face negative stereotypes and oppression. 'Nuff said. If you don't understand by now, just smegging kill yourself. Honestly white people make me so mad. You're saying that black people didn't reclaim the word. You're telling me, a black person, to not be offended when other people say it because it's "just a word". That word carries weight when it comes out of a white person's mouth, it's seen as racist because white people have called us niggers for centuries. But when black people say it to eachother, it's like a term of endearment to us. We don't mind. You're saying that you despise racism, you think we're all equal, blah-blah-blah. But why are you trying to be so protective over "a word"? You probably do say the n-word and whether or not you believe it, it does make you a racist, and shows your lack of empathy when so many people don't want you to say it.Sure, I can blame all white people for slavery. As long as they are the beneficiaries of white privilege, which allows them to have more and greater opportunities than a person of color, I can blame them for slavery. White privilege is the result and benefit from all the hardships that people of color had to go through back then. And Muslims are killed, beaten, and sometimes abused because of stereotypes about them being the perpetrators of the 9/11 attack (when actually, it was an action performed by the U.S Government itself). It's not like you guys are being killed for slavery. You, saying that racism against white people exists, is a racist act in itself. Reverse racism is a social myth, created by white people, to ease their guilt of the troubles that they have committed against colored people for so long. You saying that reverse racism exists is basically denying the fact that you have privilege in this country and you're trivializing the experiences that people of color go through everyday.A black person saying that they hate white people is not racism. It is a natural response to the oppression and hurt that you bring to us. A black person calling you a cracker/honkey is not racism. It's just that person being rude. There's a difference between racism, prejudice, and discrimination. Racism is not "a hatred or intolerance for another race", like I defined it above, it's a system, created by white people to oppress non-whites, and racism is institutionalized into every fabric of today's society: the education system (ex. non-whites having to learn about white history as a core class instead of their own), the justice system (black and hispanic people are stopped/frisked in streets because of the color of their skin, George Zimmerman, a half white/hispanic man, killed a black boy and is still free today), and the media (white people being represented everywhere, in a positive light. on the other hand black men/women and hispanic men/women are represented poorly, with stereotypes of them being lazy, ect.) Freedom of speech only protects you politically. Freedom of speech will not stop you from social events, such as getting your ass beat for saying the n-word. And I don't owe white people anything I smegging hate them all . It doesn't matter if I wasn't a slave, I still get the short end of the stick in the long run because I am black. White people are to blame for slavery because you guys are the beneficiaries of the racism/genocide that happened back then. As long as I am black, female, and oppressed, then of course I can blame all whites for what they did to my people .The Africans that sold the slaves to the slave traders were mixed. They where Portuguese and African, and dealt with internalized racism, therefore resulting in their own people being sold off. Besides - even if they were fully black, does it matter lol? Slavery that happened in Africa was much more pleasant than slavery in America. White people treated us like chattel for 500 years and enjoyed the commodification of my people. Anyways white people have been treating minorities wrong since they showed up on Earth. smegging white devils.White people act as if they're entitled to everything. Not being able to say one word is really going to change your life..Freedom of speech, or whatever the smegg you're proclaiming will not stop you from getting your smegging ass beat if you say it lol. take a shower , take a break from smegging your siblings and pets.smegg etymology. No one needs a smegging history degree to know that black people were degraded for centuries, being called the n-word by whites while being raped, kidnapped, beat, ect. Meanwhile, white people still want to say it..Either way, Mr. Deli Cheese, say it around some socially conscious black people and yes, expect an ass-beating.If you honestly think not being able to say nigga is infringing on your right of speech, you are a terrible person. You whites are honestly inconsiderate as smegg. Also, stop shooting up so many schools. Stop killing innocent people. Stop raping women. Stop committing so many crimes.P.S: White people lack melanin. That's why you guys are so susceptible to skin cancer.m Ergo, when the ozone layer leaves, white people will be the first to die off. smegging cracker. There's no such thing as racism against white people lol" 1 Quote

Mirabilis Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) It doesn't have to be though. Racism isn't institutionalized from what I've seen. There are "ethics" and "policies" in place ALL have to follow. The sexual orientation groups have more of a fight of discrimination and such than other ethnic groups. Racism exist of course, albeit it is individualistic. A person or group may be racist, and they are shunned from our society for being so, pretty much to the extent of being black-listed. A persons color doesn't make them an automatic racist, and claiming one race can't be racist towards another is exceptionally hypocritical and stupid. Edited November 26, 2014 by Mirabilis 1 Quote
Shin Mefilas Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) I'm romany gypsy, a race thats suffered a lot of racism and injustice, we even have are own n word "pikey". Inspite of that I have never felt any kind of hatred towards other ethnic groups, I personly havent suffered much racism and when I have Its the individual's attitude I have a problem with, not their skin color or religion (unless their religious beliefs are encourageing racism). I have met people who use the term pikey and I have explained that its a very offencive word but I dont make a big deal about it because as long as its not used with any malice then its just that, a word. You cannot beat bigotry by becomeing a bigot yourself, all that will do is breed more hatred and ignorance on both sides. I personly only have a problem with someone if they have a problem with me first or if I fell they are not a nice person but even then I am open minded enough to admite that I can and have miss-judged someone. But many humans cannot comprehend that and choose to any way. The fact is, it exists and it will always exist. You need to understand that racism will always exist. It has existed for a very very long time. It is in human nature to trust those we identify with more. So when those times come of disagreement and conflict, race will more easily become involved, if it can become involved. That's human nature. We have the ability to rebel against what human nature compels us towards and decide that all people are equal in the eyes of God regardless of how we may feel. And it wouldn't matter anyway. If racism wasn't the issue, it would be something else. Edited November 26, 2014 by Anonymous Quote

durendal Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Any word can be derogatory when you make it sound derogatory. For example: Ugh... Pepperoni!!! Quote
durendal Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Kidding aside, the main cause of racism is fear. And fear is a natural trait of any human being. What is it they're afraid of? It's basically the lack of knowledge. They don't understand how other person feels because they can't see through the color of one's skin. I do not like to make sweeping attacks, but there is a majority of people who know nothing except what other people or media feed them. I'm not sure if historical data are accurate since it's the dominating faction that decides what becomes of history, but based on what is recorded, there has been a number of untoward incidences involving the minority and it was sensationalized. If there is anything to blame, it is the society who is at fault. I'm not justifying their actions. I'm merely saying that these people do not have enough self awareness that they need to rely on other people to tell them what to believe. (Rather, it's a politer way of saying they're stupid.) Quote
Salkafar Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Xenophobia is instinctive. Chimpanzees, our closest relatives, live in clans that will kill members of other groups if they 'infringe'. Racism is animalistic behaviour that needs to be overcome. In time it will disappear from our instincts set, assuming racial distinctions won't have disappeared first. 2 Quote

Aether Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) I haven't watched any of these videos but I read everything above... in all honesty I think everything what she said is true BUT the comments and sweeping statements about hating ALL white people because of it is just misguided and stupid, but that is her feeling born from her experience as a black person living in America. and no that doesnt make it right but if she and the millions of black people who have grown up with the system set up against them feel disgruntled in coming up against obstacles purely because of their race you can see why they can get there minds twisted into these strange ways of thinking, some people just need something to vent there emotions at even if its not necessarily the right place its no exscuse to be prejudice though they should aim that anger at the government and the financial fatcats and other clandestine forces that are the oppressors she explains racism as '' the system''...so from the get go her semantics are wrong...the system is racist, not racism. I feel a lot of the venting in this is from the discussion of the N word ''black object'' is not a nice way to describe a human being. although my skin is white, I am a quarter African- so am I a devil because I have white skin but part black genetics? according to this woman apparently so...hmm, my grandfather would be upset to hear his grandchild and his son in law called a devil... and was Bob Marley a half devil because of his genetics? he was of mixed descent as his father was white - i don't think anyone could accuse Bob Marley of having been a semi devil ! its a shame when people vent in the wrong way at the wrong people - that is just playing into 'whitey's' / 'the systems' hands... anyway until people just embrace the fact that we are one race things will always be fkd no matter what are skin colour. one love, one heart, lets get together and feel alright!!! durendal Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Hopefully I don't sound as offensive as I thought I would be, so I'll apologize before hand. The one thing that I find laughable in the land of the free is that it is a place filled with hypocrisy. They say terms like "freedom of speech" and yet not everyone is free to say as they wish. Granted that there are a lot of a-holes, it is only a fraction of a price you have to pay for freedom. They say "equal opportunity", but that doesn't seem to happen very often. What I find most tiring is that a lot of people blame the "foreigners" for taking up their jobs, but in reality, these are the jobs that they themselves does not want to do. I'm sure our prejudiced friends here can relate to this. Quote
Enzyme-eternal Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I hesitate to get involved in such a debate but tat women's comment was to much to let go uncommented on. I'm just gong to say it, she's a racist. Yeah, her not so little rant is oozing with the same kind of hate you find in neo-Nazi sites. By the way, I know that cause I stumbled across it while researching a history report. Anyway, it's typical for bigots of all kinds to lay blame for all their problems/the worlds problems on their chosen hate group, "damn <insert group here> ruin everything". That the bigot belongs to a group that is historically persecuted does not diminish the bigotry of that person. Of course I'm sure I don't have to discredit this person's opinion after she made the statement that being a slave in Africa was more pleasant then being a slave in America. *facepalm* Oh and she talks about all white people even though she can't possibly know what ALL white people are like even on a broad cultural sense since their are white people all over the world, if you count "white" people as any person with non-pigmented skin which would include a large chunk of the Jewish population as well as Slavic people and every other sub-division I can't name off the top of my head. Then again there is a pretty prevalent view in most African countries that non-Africans aren't really black. So yeah, racism isn't just a white thing or even a purely skin colour thing either. It's any difference hateful people can find to draw them and is lines down. From a scientific point of view, the correct point of view, the concept of race is BS beyond general genetic commonalities (not fully definable by skin colour) within groupings of people. Not to mention the fact that a person's "racial" ancestry will likely span several "races" over the centuries. Gosh thatgot more involved than I intended. 2 Quote
Salkafar Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Why, she is unashamedly racist. She claims all white people are the same. But she is not entirely wrong. To quote Chris Rock: "There's a white janitor with a limp in this theatre, and he wouldn't swap places with me... and I'm rich!" Quote
Bobby Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I've actually been on the receiving end of racism. I won't go into details, but I will say that I'll never forgive or forget. 1 Quote
Mirabilis Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 I too have been in the receiving end of racism, and it's definitely a horrible feeling. I've lived all over the U.S. and had the privilege to see and meet various people and cultures. One thing that bothered me about my many experiences of being victimized was that the perps knew that I couldn't do or say anything because if I did, I would be the one seen as a racist. Much like how some females (not all) take advantage of the whole "you can't hit me, if you do I'll play the victim card and get you arrested" and provoke guys to a whole new level. I'm not entirely sure if it's a racist thing though Salkafar. I saw that bit a long time ago, and I wasn't thinking that nobody didn't want to be him because he was black, but that nobody would want to have to go through the same hardships and economical challenges he still has to fight within the system. H222G981 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) I remember when I spent three years in Arkansas with my father. Both of my biological parents have long been divorced...for over 23 years.I myself was at the receiving end of racism by African Americans primarily. I was picked on quite a bit back in middle school. Some times to get me or some of the other "white" students in trouble, they would tell the teachers and put words in our mouths that we called them racist names, primarily the "N" word and we would get lectured for it. My dad worked with some of their parents, that he was a college teacher and that one of those kids told their parents that I was a "white supremacist" kid and honestly I wasn't.My father didn't know what to think. But he gave me a lecture for it too.Really pissed me off.Although we were better off than Hispanics at the middle school, they got the blunt of it. Hispanics and African American kids seem to get into more fights over race than white kids did. I had two friends that were African American and they were the nicest guys ever. I spent much time with them. We hung out. Went to the movies and played video games together. But the point was, it was bull crap and I was sick of it. Another reason why I moved to my home state, to a town where the people and strangers have better common sense and don't use racism as a pity or hate card. Anyone that does gets a talking to.I think it takes a really immature and narrow minded group of people or persons to use race against a group of people. Its childish, its immature, and most of all its immoral. No one deserves that. Edited May 26, 2015 by Jupiter Quote
Bobby Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 The two incidents both happened when I was in high school. I had an African-American bus driver who showed she HATED me on a regular basis. Namely she would wait 30 seconds for me and five minutes for everybody else on the bus. I was one of two white kids on the bus. Everyone else was African-American, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latino, etc. Even the bus aide was of a certain ethnicity. But the driver didn't treat the other white guy the same way she treated me. He eventually moved away. One day, the bus aide told me to put my feet on the floor when I was laying down, my feet were actually hovering in the air and NOT on my seat, and the bus driver ordered me to move to the front so she could keep an eye on me. Yet the African-American dude in the seat next me, who RARELY rode the bus, would lay flat on his back with his feet in the aisle & thus make it hard for me & those behind us to get off the bus. The driver did nothing about that. Some time later, she was driving us home when she suddenly yelled at me in front of her kid ordering me to move to another seat so she wouldn't have to smell me anymore. When I got home, I was so pissed off that I called my folks at their work who then called my principal. When my mom got home, she smelled my coat, sweatshirt, t-shirt & armpits and found ZERO trace of B.O. on me. Especially since I showered every other day and put deodorant on daily. It was pretty obvious that it didn't occur to to the driver that it was either someone else on the bus or the fact that I lived in a lake area for even a nanosecond. I went to school the next day hoping my driver would get fired. She went inside my school because my principal wanted to talk to her. Instead, she got let off with a warning. But the b***h continued to wait 30 seconds for me and I found out years later from the only friend I had on the bus that she continued to wave her hand in front of her face every time I walked past. She basically saw me as "The Smelly White Boy". Quote
