Oberon Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I was looking at the above picture today when it suddenly struck me what a stupid battle design this was. I mean it looks awesome and it's Aptom so it's cool but he can't lift his arms up! If he does he will impale his shoulders on his own spikes. Even if they are angled forward at the best he'll still be rubbing against them. I don't see any point in having retractable spikes and to be honest the point of having spikes there is rather odd anyway. Not many attacks come in from between the shoulder and the head! Has anyone else noticed anything similarly silly in guyver? Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Valid point Oberon, but it would be more of a figure issue than the manga. Aptom should have more flexibility with his form than we can see. After all, he is a shape shifter. Quote
unit 0 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 and im sure in the twelve part series there was a zoanoid that looked like a chicken, havent watched it in a while though so maybe i dreamed it lol. Quote

TheAptomStrain Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 They made him look more intimidating in the anime, but he was still a chicken with a lizard tail and crazy spiral eyes. Quote

Jade Tatsu Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 It might be a figure issue so that you can't post your battle form Aptom figure, but the way it's drawn, at least in the picture Oberon has given us, it really does look like he'd have trouble. Thinking about anatomy, you could raise your arms, but you'd want to have pretty wide shoulders, so maybe that's how he gets around it, by not being able to rub his arms against his ears. Quote
