Raius Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) I stumbled across a fairly new anime review show called "Animerica", which is hosted by two guys. I saw that they reviewed "Guyver - The Bio-Boosted Armor" anime and decided to check it out. I was greeted with the longest, most uneducated, dull and bias review I've ever seen. These guys twist the story and explanation of the series, all for the sake of jokes, to the point where I was beginning to wonder if it was a "mock" review and not meant to be taken seriously. They down right lie on a number of parts and skip over important plot points due to "boredom", only to be confused later BECAUSE they skipped sections. It was really sad because I like anime review shows and I was happy that someone took notice of Guyver, but this was just bashing for the sake of bashing. Granted, they do bring up good points here and there and some, emphasis on SOME, of their jokes did make me laugh; but over all, this was just...annoying. The review is separated into 3 parts and each part is about 50 min. Also, I'm not encouraging anyone to go and troll these guys; I just think that fans of Guyver should give them an honest opinion on what they said about the show, good, bad or indifferent. http://blip.tv/anime...art-one-6183553 http://blip.tv/anime...art-two-6195383 http://blip.tv/anime...t-three-6208015 Edited June 24, 2012 by Raius 1 Quote
river_chaos Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 That's sad if their only doing it just for the views Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 eeeh, 150 minute review of guyver bashing. i watched the beginning and then skipped around a bit on the first part, it doesn't look particularly good so i think i'll pass on the rest. is it normal to review the WHOLE of a series like this? it looked like they were just going to talk me through all 26 episodes pointing out what they liked or didn't. doesn't really seem like a real review format. it's more like 'if you're too lazy to watch the show but eager enough to watch two guys say silly things about select scenes for 150 minutes'. Quote
Cannibal Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I watched 10 minutes, I haven't watched other reviews from those guys and all I can say about it: it's just a troll review that supposed to be unserious. I watched tons of this kind of reviews (but not about anime, but about games (good games)). But... 150 minutes? Quote
.:P:. Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 As Cannibal said: But... 150 minutes? Maybe it's because I don't understand american humor, but i couldn't stand more than 2 mins... XD Quote
LordSpleach Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Not even American humor. Just bad jokes and bashing for the sake of it. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I only made it through five minutes of that drek; those people are aggressively boring. Quote
*BananaKing Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I got through about 20minutes before I couldnt take any more ear rape. This is by far one of the most un-professional reviews of anything I've ever seen. They're review is like something you see off of a cheap youtube channel. The jokes are poor in taste and the fact that they skip scenes and dont pay attention to what they're reviewing just makes them look like dumbasses. I just couldnt stand it and wont ever watch any of their anime reviews. Not because they wrongfully butchered Guyver, but because they are dull, unprofessional, and worst of all not funny 1 Quote
Enzyme-eternal Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I've only watched the first part but three things stood out. One, Agito's character is expanded in the series but the fact that we never really know if he's a good guy or not is sort of the point of his character, especially given later events. Two, X-day is completely plossible since Chronos not only has the means to rig elections but can also simple Zoa-form every potental candidate since they don't need to be complisite in the plan since Zoalords can control Zoanoids, a fact that is shown in the show so they don't even have the excuse of not knowing that. Three, and this is sort of a major one that seems like a miner point. Murikami's gun. It doesn't matter if it is to big for a human to fire since, and there is no way anyone who has seen the show can't know this, he isn't human. 1 Quote
*BananaKing Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I dont know, Murakami's gun looks around the size of a Smith & Wessen 500 Magnum and thats a BIG handgun. There are plenty of humans that can use that gun Quote
Aether Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 i cant believe anyone would watch a 150 min review of anything, let alone these 2 idiots bashing the Guyver. i wasted 2 mins, they wasted 150 mins of their life on this and even longer because they had to cut it together etc. etc. i feel in the immortal words of the cockneys ''they've mugged themselves right off'' 1 Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Can we all just agree on the fact that these muttonheads completely fail at reviewing? I mean, seriously; not only are they completely boring, it sounds like they're wildly inaccurate, too. Quote
Oberon Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I don't wish to waste my time watching them but the only real way of stopping stuff like that is to make sure you do not visit their website and if they are affiliated with any forum is to sign up and tell their "editor" that they did a bad job. But since I'm speaking without even looking at it, I have no idea if it's affiliated with anything let alone is making money off it. I didn't like Guyver 2005 as the best ever, the backgrounds were odd but it wasn't that bad either. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Speaking of reviews that utterly fail. I'm trying to argue against the rampant stupidity - I'm CirianAlani - but it's a bit hard being the only one. This guy's way off-base. Quote
LordSpleach Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I decided to insult cause he was that bad. The last guys were trolling and trying to be funny. This guy truly missed the mark. Here's a good review to raise our intelligence. 1 Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Now, this guy actually knows what he's talking about. 1 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I don't know, I don't think it was completely fair to say the first one was 'utterly fail'. The guy was no irrational in what he said and his point has some validity. it is absolutely true that the guyver is not strong enough to take down a zoalord at that point. the question of whether or not that ,makes for good viewing is a matter of opinion. he's only expression his own view and as adults we ought to respect that. 1 Quote
odin Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I sat through the entire review and frankly i did not like it at all, they where trying too hard and their points where illogical and sometimes stupid as well, It was a long time since I saw the review but I do remember that they where trying too hard to be like the guys from that guy with the glasses instead of doing their own thing, they also did not do research on the series history to bring people up to speed of where the series comes , overall it was badly made and a review has to be at least in the 1 hour mark max cause you risk of boring your viewers if you do it too long like they did, a good example of reviewing an entire series would be like Linkara who has an alternate show called history of power rangers where he reviews an entire season mostly in in under an hour and makes a lot of research to bring interesting trivia of the season in question and stuff, another example would be EZ Rider who has a show called toku time where he reviews anything toku related but mostly Kamen rider or Super Sentai with a bit of humor that can be hit or miss some times, I suggest you guys watch them if you haven't cause they are pretty entertaining and have lots of knowledege of the genre.
