Spider-Man Reboot

Hey, as long as you're not making up anything, that's cool. I'm even sure you know a lot more about spidey that I do, as I stopped reading comics for 10 years. I've only recently been trying to catch up with what's happening. And yes, Spidey comics during the 90's was a pain to collect. I think there was a minimum of 4 separate monthly spidey titles back then.

I think the advantage of doing a spidey reboot is that you get to plant all the easter eggs you want.

Great pics. I'm guessing the guy with the green fist is supposed to be Curt Conners/Lizard.

ah my bad, yes he is. and i guess the guy with the hoody and red mask is either the burglar that kills Uncle ben or Peter parker before being spider-man

you already said that once Bobby, and yes it does look sweet although I am not still accustomed to the new spidey look, supposedly in this adaptation Spider-man CAN shoot organic webbing but needs the web shooter in order to control them properly for some reason, It does look like it's shaping up to be a good movie at least.

Something just occurred to me: Is this one going to be a 'shared universe' flick with the Avengers franchise?

I'm afraid not, since sony still holds the rights for the Spiderman franchise. I think it would be a few more years before the rights revert back to Marvel, where that is the only time that they can attach Spiderman to the marvel cinematic universe.

Bobby I think everyone here is aware of that, so the question is... what's your point?

Durendal just made it pretty clear that sony hold the rights so marvel can't use it.

try and pay attention please, you're just gonna get people's back up.

The reason to put him in an Avengers movie. Not for the hell of it, but because he was one.

Correction, before all that House of M mess, Spiderman was never a full fledge Avenger. He was only a reserved avenger and never officially joined the team. And based on the direction Marvel has on the avengers movie, which features the original 1963 roster of Avenger, Spiderman is definitely NOT part of it.

Well... yes and no. It includes Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk, who were founding Avengers, but Captain America, the Black Widow and Hawkeye weren't, while the Wasp and Ant-Man were, but they're not in the movie.

Too bad, I would have liked to see Giant-Man onscreen. It's so iconic. Those who have read the mini-series 'Marvels' (By Alex Ross) will understand what I mean.

Well, if you want to be that nit picky, that's true also. As well as the other inconsistencies in the avengers movie as opposed to the original comic. But this is neither the time or place to discuss these, since we are in the Spiderman thread.

And as my original point, it's unlikely that we would ever see Spiderman join the avengers cast in the near future, seeing that they still need to do one more movie before the rights revert from sony back to marvel (do correct me on this though).

I watched it once, and I'm gonna watch it again after this post.

seriously cool.

you know what, those films made by sam raimi were ok i guess but I never really got the feeling of spiderman from them.

and I don't think i even realised it. but watching this trailer I realised that there was a part of me that was totally in love with spiderman and I had forgotten about it.

when i was very young and dekared used to buy spiderman comics, I used to sit by him and he used to read them to me. he used to act out all the voices and everything and it was so cool, spiderman was so funny and so athletic, a total gymnast, fast and funny, always one step ahead.

spiderman is all I used to draw when i was in school, I probably drew spiderman more than guyver.

this trailer reminded me of that. the way he moves is amazing. this is what the name 'amazing spiderman' really means.

I need to go and watch it again!

Likewise man, this trailer got me exited and hoping that this will be THE definite spider-man film, i will without a doubt go and watch this movie in the theater once it is released, after all....spider-man means a lot more to me than any other character i know, he is the reason why i got into drawing, making comics, etc...

then only concern i have right now is the fact that photo is at night time. for some reason, these producers think something can't be good unless it is night time.

As a filmmaker, I can say that shooting at nighttime is a MASSIVE ball ache, Due to lighting and electrical demands. It always makes directors of photography groan when they read it's a night time shoot.
