What kind of Guyver video-game would you like to see?

What genre would it be?

What chapters would it cover? Be realistic. You wouldn't be able to cover the entirety of the manga without skipping chunks.

Or would it be a non-canon story (like the Guyver OVAs)?

What characters would be playable?

One made by Platinum Studios, with emphasis on crazy action. A level based type of set up is best I think, rather than anything open world.

This (Platinum are crazy talented) or a a Dynasty Warriors/Musou Guyver title. They have made some excellent bloody/gory anime titles thus far ( Berserk, Fist of the North Star) that it would be pretty brilliant.

That works for me as well. Fighting hordes of zoanoids, hyper zoanoid and Zoalord boss battles, could be great.

*sigh*

I pray the multiverse theory is true so I can at least take comfort in knowing there's a universe where the Guyver series is just as famous as DBZ.

Like Spider-Man PS4.

So an open world action adventure? That could be difficult, I mean the Guyver is a hero, but not a traditional one of fighting crime, the US version was, but not the Japanese.

How would you craft it like Spider-Man?

instead of street crime, he could be in village like... oh crap i cant remember the name of that village around relics point....  but it could be a mix of prototype where you(and tetsuro and the rest) have to hide from the authorities, and any arkham series game where the denizens are your enemy. it would be a small limited sandbox most definitely... but i think if they do it like they did the first arkham asylum, where its still open, yet confined to the island would be kinda cool. plus, you get a better story with having a smaller world to interact in.

they can even do it in missions like how they did mass effect, how they could explain the lull inbetween each missions im unsure. unless they do a transformers war of\fall of cybertron game play. that could work.

but definitely graphics like spiderman ps4.

I think there’s interesting distinct gameplay possibilities playing as Sho, Agito, Genzo, Risker, Guyot, and Aptom.

I think the way powers are learned and developed in the manga is really close to how abilities unlock in many AAA games.

I think there’s elements to call upon in Assassin’s Creed, Arkham, Hitman, Syndicate, GTA, and Jade Cocoon.

A common theme throughout Guyver is subterfuge. For most of the series, Sho and Agito have effectively been guerillas. For the first part, Chronos was a secretive organisation infiltrating governments and covering up its experiments - and Agito was himself trying to infiltrate it. Genzo’s downfall follows his failed attempts to clean up his mistakes, Risker and Guyot are consumed by ambition, and once Aptom evolves past Zoalord control he becomes a rogue stalker trying to sneak his way up the food chain.

Really, though, the question is - how authentic to the manga should it be? How many surprises should there be? How many options to break continuity should there be? When you already know that Sho can regenerate from the medal, that Agito is a bastard, that Chronos win - what would you get from playing any of the roles? I’m not sure it could work - not for existing keen fans, anyway. If there’s scope for us to fight the scenario - to skip school as soon as Sho recovers from the lake, go to Max Pharmaceuticals head office, bio-boost, fire one megasmasher downwards and the other upwards - then it could feel a bit like those Breath of the Wild speedruns where a naked Link flies into Hyrule castle then the credits shortly roll. Alternatively, if it follows a levels structure with a fixed narrative, it’s going to feel constrained.

Thinking on it, here’s some approaches that could be interesting:

- Chronos business simulator. Like a Jurassic Park sim, but you’re digging for Relics, not amber.

- Playing as Agito, trying to get promoted up the hierarchy whilst also setting up ops to fail.

- a Bio-Boosted Battle Royale. Set in an alternative timeline, kind of like Mutronics, where the scale of Chronos is built around the constraints of the game. A load of players are put in a map, one of them has a Guyver, one of them is a remote Zoalord, the others are Zoanoids. (Could also just be two players, Guyver vs Zoalord, with bots or directly puppeted Zoanoids.) Additionally, there are loads of NPCs, including a bunch of family and friends of the Guyver. The Zoalord can directly order Zoanoids, giving them map pins and switching POV from a world map to any Zoanoid’s POV, and can leave their control centre to personally join battle. The Guyver wins by either killing all the Zoanoids or killing the Zoalord or exposing Chronos. Chronos win by capturing the Control Medal. The deaths of the Guyver’s friends and family causes debilitation, like the emotional trauma that prevented Sho from summoning the Guyver, so the Guyver has reason to avoid exposure. NPCs can be witnesses that increase Chronos’ exposure, however their deaths cause some debilitation to the Guyver and Chronos’ network of spies means that a highly credible witness may be identified to the Zoalord. Once a friend or family member has witnessed a Chronos attack, they may use what skills they have to help the Guyver. Amongst the Zoanoids is a Gelpess, who can try to imitate a family member. There are Chronos facilities on the map that serve as spawn points for Zoanoids -  Chronos can respawn players by abducting and processing a non-Zoanoid. There is a chance they may abduct the Guyver, who will have a chance to play possum and invade Chronos - or, perhaps, become a Guyver Zoanoid; this increases their power level, but it makes them permanently traceable by the Zoalord, who can use mental attacks to distract (but not control) the Guyver. Also, there’s a film director NPC whose monster movie shoots provide opportunities to transform in broad daylight with plausible deniability, and one of the Zoanoids can r

I more so meant movement-wise, especially with the different moves and abilities. It would be nice to bust up warehouses with Chronos goons and zoanoids. Maybe have them kidnap Mizuki a million times, haha.

One aspect I would love to see in a Guyver video game is customization. Because why the hell not? Choosing colors, how the sonic globes or vents are placed, shape of the eyes, elbow blades, etc.

oh god, dont say that.

im already getting flash backs of preston garvey's "another settlement needs your help"

but instead it'll be tetsuro always saying, "Mizuki been kidnapped again!"

Either a game like Mortal Kombat or DOOM 2016...

Especially one like DOOM where YOU are the Guyver. You get Advent Related objects to find and collect in which you can use to evolve to the Gigantic-Guyver/gain more energy for weapons health/armor strength, unlock different Guyver designs in which you can use to create your own design, in game collectibles, and GLORY KILLS. Power ups like those of DOOM: Berserk, Invulnerability, Invisibility, and quad damage.

If you die or have to respawn/load checkpoint or if your health gets to or below 25% you go into an emergency Self Defense Mode. Like DOOM, you go around ripping and tearing everything trying to kill you. Humans (scientists/agents/combatants), Movie/Standard/Hyper/Lost Numbers/Guyver-Killers/Proto-Zoalords/ even other Guyvers. Leaving the Guyot, Imakarum, Purgstall, Waferdanos, Yentsui as the bosses and Apollyon as hidden villain like Doctor Samuel Hayden was in DOOM 2016.

I would imagine the game would be episodic. First mission would be at the lake, you watch the cut-scene where Sho transforms into the Guyver. Gregole would be used for a quick tutorial. Then you have to take down waves of Zoanoids as Tetsuro makes his escape. After Tetsuro is safe, you have to fight your own way to freedom.

One player if its a action adventure , the format would fused Ninja Gaiden + DMC .

Guyver I starting off , & Guyver III   playable later  like level 3, you'd have to fight him like a test or something. Guyver II has to be defeated a certain way, to  play as him. which would help with characters like Guyver II & Guyver Apton.. "limited time play". ( Capcom vs's titles, where while the characters are rotated to fight, the one not fighting  can heal a bit.)

Guyver IIF, Murakami, & Guyver 0 would be "LTP"secret playable characters in the sequel.

The other  would be a few  fighting games

1. 2D fighter  KOF/Guilty Gear style

2. A Dead or Alive/Virtual Fighter (VF, yeah i said it!) Type.

Are you thinking in terms like a Dragonball Z fighting game? :gba:
