    The Halloween Cycle

Hello everyone, so this year I'm going to talk about a franchise that I have had an unfairly low opinion on for many years. The Halloween franchise. This is in part due to the new Halloween movie coming out next month but also from a growing intreast in the movies earlier this year despite not having known of the new film until the last month or two. I will say that I wont be posting anything new here for about two weeks as I'll be away however once I'm back I'll be buying every single Halloween movie, bar 3 as it has no real ties the main reason I want talk about these films. The Shape aka Michael Myers. This will be a little different from my "Many Lives of Jason Voorhees" series as during that topic my discussion was about Jason and how his character and look changed over time along with talking about his movies in brief. Despite their similarities Michael makes for a very different beast to discuss. This is in part due to the fact that Micheal is the original slasher villain and Halloween the first true movie of the genre. Well look at not only Michael's character but also how this series differed from what came befor, the genre it spawned and how that genre would affect the franchise as time went on among other things. We'll also look at the new film when it comes out. So to give us a list of what we'll be looking at: Halloween (1978) Halloween 2 (1981) Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers Halloween 6 - The Curse of Michael Myers Halloween H20: 20 Years Later Halloween: Resurrection Halloween (2007) Halloween 2 (2008) Halloween (2018) I'll see you all again in October.

Dragon Ball Super Movie - Broly

I have to say I likewise would like to see more of Gogeta. I'm not a GT hater, but one misstep it had was its partial of him. SS4 Gogeta is not Gogeta. He's an overly exaugurated version of Vegito. Vegito is confident, but his constant taunting and messing about with Buu was part of his plan to get himself absorbed and save everyone. As seen in super, Vegito dose not screw around when facing a foe he has no reason to go easy one. SS4 Gogeta is a moron who's drunk on his own power. Gogeta, from what little we see, seems to be very reserved and serious. He defeats Janemba instantly, no messing around. As for Vegeta getting SSG finally, well their a lot unexplained around how he even got his god power in the first place. Goku himself never used the form post his fight with Beerus despite until the ToP despite it being a viable option in many cases. My theory is that at first nether of them could access the form due to their lack of control and Goku only attained it through the ritual. When training with Whis they treated god ki like they did Super Saiyan which resulted in Blue. They had to learn to better control their power to be able to take this weaker but less draining form. Goku obviously was able to do so first as he had attained the form previously and knew what it "felt" like. But thats all fan theory on my part. While I've pretty much cut ties with the DB fandom for the time being, I which to experience the film as intended instead of spoiling it all as I've done from BoG on, one bit I did hear about is that this movie is not going to be as simple as people think and Goku's victory is not guaranteed.

    New Chapter status?

I'm not short whats worse, no Guyver or the tacky and tasteless covers that mock us every month.

    Guyver bonded to none humanoids?

All good points. Another aspect to add on is that an out of control Rex is not going to actively attack the Creators. It will just revert back to it's natural instinct and look for something to eat, a far easier problem to deal with then a thinking creature who can plan and actively work against you. To get the most out of a guyver requires a powerful brain, for without it the ultimate weapon is useless. Its intreating to a Rex might not even get any of the known weapons, or hell maybe even any at all. The unit might not even bother installing any if it senses that it's host wouldn't even use them.

    Guyver bonded to none humanoids?

Just wondering about this today. For example... Lets say we attached a guyver unit to a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Dinosaurs, from what we can work out, were likely creatures of limited intelligence which primarily functioned on pure instinct. Not much different then most birds, reptiles and crocodile of today. As a result the creatures use of the guyvers weapons would likely be used in a far more basic way then any human guyver would, most likely acting on instinct and in reaction to a current situation. Power wise what needs to be said, it's an apex predator the size of a building. It's power output, should the unit react as it dose with a human, would be staggering compared to a normal human guyver. But what about weapons and general layout? For example the T.rex's primary offensive weapon is it's mouth and it's arms are very underdeveloped for it's size. Would the guyver adapt itself to better suit this none humanoid?

    His Blog

A little somthing special today. I commissioned Lucithea, creator of Guyver Alfa, to do artwork of my Prometheus Guyver. Been doing a little reworking on his bio and weapon systems. Mostly minor but noticable changes include... Vibration Globe - A single metallic orbs located between Prometheus's eyes that produces sound waves. It is primarily used for verbal communication but it can also unleash a highly destructive sound wave known as the "Sonic Buster". Upgrade: Prometheus's Vibration Globe can also generate powerful infrasound waves that can induce sever affects in anyone in it's radius, including fear, sorrow, depression, anxiety, nausea, chest pressure, paralysis and hallucinations. This "Sonic Terror" can cause lesser targets to faint outright. The Globe can also be used for voice mimicry and echolocation. Mega-Smasher - Two high-power particle cannons contained beneath the chest armour. Upgrades: The armour's energy regulation and output for the Mega-Smasher have been greatly enhanced. The weapons charge time has been reduced by 25% and the energy output can be controlled so that power can be regulated. This was done because when fired at full power Prometheus's Mega-Smasher can destroy an entire city. This also means that the weapon can be used multiple times at a weaker setting since it's power reserves are not all used up at once. Due to the significantly high power output of his Mega-smasher, Prometheus's particle beam is red in colour when fired at full power.

Always did love that big, red, rust bucket. Slower then the speed of dark and still going after 3 million years. Lets see now... Moya from Farscape. The Arc Hammer from Star Wars and I'd die of shame if I didn't include the Derelict from Alien.

    Guyver vs SCP-076-2 (Able)

Ok so this is a little match up between a normal Guyver, we'll as Sho, and SCP-076-2, referred to as Able. SCP-076-2 is a Keter class SCP. This means he his very difficult to contain and highly dangerous to everyone he comes into contact with. I'll provide a copy of his data file. Item #: SCP-076 Object Class: Keter Special Containment Procedures: Containment Area 25b is to be located 200 m below sea level, tunneled out of solid bedrock in a seismologically stable area. Sole access to the containment facility is to be through a vertical elevator shaft separated every fifty (50) meters with a reinforced blast door, constructed of 20 cm thick material shielding. Elevator shaft shall be flooded with seawater when not in use. Containment Area 25b is to be constructed with the following components: An Outer Security Perimeter against outside threats, staffed by security personnel trained in close quarters battle and counter-intrusion tactics. An Administrative and Support Area (ASA) consisting of support facilities and living quarters for on-site personnel. A Primary Containment Zone (PCZ), consisting of a 7 m cube encased in 1.5 m of reinforced material. PCZ is to be designed to be flooded and drained as needed, and should remain filled with seawater unless access to contents is required. A 150 m "killing corridor" which is to be the sole access to the PCZ from the ASA (including water, power, drainage, and ventilation lines). The walls and floor of the corridor are to be reinforced in a similar manner to the PCZ, with the addition of an electric deterrence system capable of delivering a 20,000 volt shock. A security station located at the entrance to the killing corridor is to be staffed with no fewer than three (3) armed security personnel on watch at any one point in time. Armament is to include, but not be limited to, at least one (1) ███████ CIW system on a pintle mount with a clear line of sight down the corridor, with a plexiglass screen to protect the operator from thrown weapons. In the event of a full breach, all on-site staff are to proceed immediately to the closest security station for weapons and armor distribution. Staff will remain at Alert Condition One until SCP-076-2 is confirmed neutralized. Should 90 minutes pass after declaration of full breach without a Stand Down order being given by Level 4 or higher personnel, Final Contingency Measures will be activated, flooding the entire facility in seawater and sealing off the access shaft for a minimum of 24 hours before retrieval is attempted. This will, by necessity, result in the deaths of all on-site staff. Description: SCP-076 consists of two components: a stone cube (SCP-076-1) and a humanoid entity contained within (SCP-076-2). SCP-076-1 is a 3 m cube made of black speckled metamorphic stone. All surfaces outside and within SCP-076-1 are covered in deeply engraved patterns corresponding to no known civilizations. Radioisotope analysis indicates that the object is approximately ten thousand (10,000) years old. A door is located on one side, sealed with a lock 0.5 m in width, surrounded by twenty (20) smaller locks in a circular pattern. As of yet, none of the keys have been found, making the door impossible to lock once closed. Interior temperature is approximately 93 Kelvin, and cannot be altered by any means, internal or external. Directly in the center of the room is a 2.13 m tall stone coffin, held in place and sealed shut by several chains of unknown make and substance, which are attached to the inner corners of SCP-076-1. SCP-076-2 resembles a lean Semitic human male in his late twenties. Hair is black, and eyes are gray, skin tone olive. Subject is 1.96 m in height and 81.65 kg in weight. Numerous tattoos depicting arcane and occult iconography are present all over the body (mostly in the form of leering demonic faces) and ranges from subtle to openly ostentatious. Subject, when encased inside SCP-076-1, is technically dead. However, occasionally SCP-076-2 will awaken, effectively "reanimating", complete with all vital processes needed to sustain a living human being. Subject will then attempt to leave SCP-076-1. If successful, subject will enter a trance state and seek out the nearest human being, ignoring all other living things in the process. Upon coming into contact with living humans, SCP-076-2 will enter a rage state in which it attempts to engage and kill all human beings encountered. To date, only the subject's death has been shown to be effective in ending these rampages. Terminating SCP-076-2 is often problematic due to its significant physical abilities. Subject has superhuman strength and speed, and although not invulnerable, has shown a remarkable ability to ignore pain and shock, pressing on despite what would be debilitating wounds in normal humans. Prior encounters have shown that SCP-076-2 has the ability to (among other things): Rip through a reinforced steel security door over the course of four (4) minutes of sustained assault. Clear over 64 m of distance in under three (3) seconds. Take multiple .50 caliber BMG rounds to the head and survive for several minutes to continue killing, despite severe damage to the cerebellum. Swat handgun and assault-rifle caliber bullets out of the air with a length of steel rebar. Survive for over one (1) hour deprived of oxygen before finally asphyxiating. SCP-076-2's most unusual ability, however, is its ability to apparently materialize bladed weapons out of nowhere. Slow-motion video footage reveals that the blades in question are actually pulled from a miniature dimensional rift described as a "small hole in space." Where this portal leads is unknown, as is how SCP-076-2 is capable of generating said rifts. Footage of the blades in question shows them to be made out of a completely non-reflective black material appearing as a "black void in space." As the blades rapidly vanish after leaving the subject's possession, no structural analysis is possible at this time. SCP-076-2 has effectively been killed several times in various manners: Sustained fire from multiple heavy-caliber machine guns. Asphyxiation. Crushed beneath a 13.6 metric tonne piece of elevator equipment for use on SCP-076-1. Cremation through the use of a Thermate-TH3 grenade placed directly inside SCP-076-2's open chest cavity. During the worst breach to date, Containment Area-25 (which previously housed SCP-076) was forced to detonate its on site warhead as a last attempt to contain SCP-076-2 while it was attempting escape, resulting in total destruction of the site and all on-site personnel. SCP-076-1 survived. Upon death, SCP-076-2's remains will putrefy rapidly, until reduced to dust. SCP-076-1 and the coffin within will then slam shut with great force, and the lock will rotate, sealing it shut. SCP-076-2 will then reform within the coffin, a process taking anywhere from six (6) hours to twenty-five (25) years. What posthumous analysis of SCP-076-2 exists shows that it has a internal system highly different from our own, documented in [DATA EXPUNGED]. Additional: SCP-076 was found in ████████████, Mongolia, in 18██, by archaeologists from England. All members of the expedition were subsequently killed on the return voyage home. SCP-076 was recovered from the ship █████ ███████ by the ███████ Society (one of the organizations that later merged into the modern Global Occult Coalition) and placed on display in their Inner Sanctum. SCP-076 remained in storage for ███████ (██) years, until SCP-076-2 became active and escaped on ██-██-████. The reason for SCP-076's activation is currently unknown, but it was at this point that the keys to the outer shell were lost. A massive manhunt, lasting over three (3) years and ████ ███████, took place until SCP-076-2 was incapacitated by ██████████ ███████, killing it and causing it to reform inside SCP-076-1, by then retrieved and secured by agents of the SCP Foundation. Subject was in custody for three (3) more years, under constant supervision, and was terminated whenever it became active, although it occasionally was able to escape for short periods of time, often due to security breaches caused by attacks from other organizations. The Foundation's death toll due to this was [DATA EXPUNGED] [DATA EXPUNGED] [DATA EXPUNGED] After the last incident, the current procedures regarding SCP-076 were implemented, although they are upgraded regularly with the increase in technological standards.
  13. Title sums it up and feel free to throw you hat (ship) in. The Special Class-1 Astro Combatant Ship - Desura II The second flag ship of Leader Abelt Dessler as well as his seat of power post his exile. The Desura I was Dessler's original flag ship and was a standard dreadnought found in the Gamilas Empire all be it with a golden control room to replicate Dessler's thrown room and the ship's hull was painted in the distinctive blue of the Imperial Guard fleet, and the bridge crew was composed of Imperial Guard officers. It was destroyed during an assassination attempt on Dessler. The complete Desura II is composed of two separate spacecraft. A smaller and more lightly armed core ship provides command functions both when operating independently and when docked with the larger Desura II hull. Desura II - Core Ship Desura II - Complete The complete ship is about 638 meters in length. The Desura II is crewed by soldiers and officers of the Imperial Guard, but it also carries several hundred armed Garmilloid robot troops. Stored in compartments along the outer hull, the robots can be deployed on individual jetpacks that allow them to manoeuvre freely in space toward enemy targets. It's standard armaments consist of: 6 480 mm triple-mount positron cannon turrets, 6 330 mm triple-mount positron cannon turrets, 6 330 mm triple-mount positron beam turrets, 51 wing, aft, and ventral mounted torpedo launch tubes. The Core Ship is armed with: 6 point defence guns around bridge and 4 bow torpedo launch tubes. It is also armed with harpoon cables that can be fired into another object to secure it or to anchor Desura II in place and has the ability to directly access and override control of the computer systems of other Garmillas facilities. The Desura II's most iconic weapon is it's Dessler Cannon. The Dessler Cannon is the same type of weapon as the Wave Motion Gun used by the Yamato. The Wave Motion Gun was a powerful weapon capable of destroying anything as large as Australia. Its energy comes from the Wave Motion Engine, which is a large device that behaves as a high-power capacitor. This "capacitor" charges up the power input to the critical point of 120% at which point the person in charge of the firing mechanism releases the final safety lock and fires the weapon when ready. Due to the massive need of concentrated power, the "barrel" of the weapon is required to be long, and in the Yamato's case, the barrel is the whole ship from the engine to the firing gate. Light emitted from the cannon is so intensive that crew within the light range of the cannon must wear Anti-Shock/Flash goggles in addition of tinting the window. In Yamato 2199, a detailed explanation and system diagram of the wave motion engine and the wave motion gun are shown. The wave motion gun's proper name is the "Dimensional Wave Motion Explosive Compression Emitter". The wave motion engine sits at the core of the ship's reactor unit, and provides power by expanding compactified higher dimensions that are curled up as Calabi-Yau manifolds. With the expansion of the higher dimensions, energy is released into the wave motion reactor into the gravity wave compression chambers and the tachyon particle oscillator control unit. A super-gravity wave is created and directed towards the muzzle of the wave motion gun, generating a stream of micro black holes. These micro black holes rapidly evaporate and have their mass-energy fully converted into Hawking radiation in the process, and that is the source of the wave motion gun's destructive capabilities. Dessler was able to develop his own version, the Wave Motion tech the humans possess haveing been given to them by another race, and the cannon was originally believed to be a fixed part of the Dimensional Mobile City Fortress Second Baleras. The Fortress functioning in a similar fashion to the Death Star. However in reality the Desura II was docked in fortress's cannon. Given that the colour violet is a shorter wavelength than blue, the output of the weapon is likely more powerful than the Yamato's Wave Motion Gun due to denser energy particles. The Dessler Cannon has been shown to decimate an entire enemy fleet in one shot and engulf a planet in flames and eventually destroy it.

Dragon Ball Super Movie - Broly

Hmmmm not an easy question. Manga is not like wester comics and you well know. They are a self contained story that dose have an end while comics go on for years with reworkings, reboots and the like. In resent years we've seen some manga keep going however, Naruto with Boruto and Death Note's had the odd new piece crop up know and again. The real big case of continuation is stuff from Go Nagai with many reworkings of his creations such as Mazinger Z, Devilman and Cutie Honey. Most other long running anime like Gundam are almost always somthing new with each iteration, as far as I understand. For my part I think Dragon Ball is simply appealing to many. Dragon Ball is not unintelligent, but as think it just boils down to it being fun and simple. I will admit the series is passed it's prime, in fact it's most popular arc, the Frieza Arc, is wear it's general quality of writing started to dip, the simple and fun factor has never gone away. As to why its still going, the series has held onto a very big and loyal fan base, but what really kicked this of was Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. Both did very well at the box office, F being one of the highest grossing anime films ever and BoG was critically acclaimed. Those two films were what really made it possible for Super to come into existence, that and Toriyama being interested in coming back on board. Dragon Ball pretty much stopped being a Journey to the West story after it's first arc. In fact the first arc is almost a completely different style of story compared to the later parts. The Android Saga seems to be strongly influenced by the Terminator which game out not long befor and Trunks himself seems based on Kyle Reese.
