SInce I've taken an intreast in Gundam I've been looking around to see what games from the franchise made it to the west. Sadly I was put off of most of the modern ones as they are use elements from across the whole franchise, which needless to say would make a new come like me very out of his depth. Then I ran across this one, which sounded perfect since it takes place during the One Year War. Unfortunately it was region locked... until now! Looks to be a pretty fun game.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 Coming West in 2019

Well the votings all completed. All the above mobile suits made it into the game, bar Thunderbolt’s Armour Gundam. Ironic sine the original version stayed in. They also bumped up the number to 10 so the Xamal and the Dwadge made it in. Number was interestingly the Zaku I (GS), that mech and it’s game must be very popular. Good news for Matt, the Blue Destiny effortlessly stayed in at rank 2. Have looked up the ms I can see why you’d want it. It’s pretty awesome.

    Archanfel versus (The Second Round)

Here’s one I was wondering about. King Ghidorah (Anime) “There is a far greater destructive power lurking somewhere in space. Compared to that, Godzilla would not even be worth the fear. ...Ghidorah” An energy being that takes the form of a golden three-headed dragon and inhabits the void between dimensions, Ghidorah has used super gravity to consume countless worlds throughout the millennia. 100,000 years ago, Ghidorah destroyed the planet Exifcalus, while the surviving members of the native Exif race took to the stars to find new worlds and appease their God. With each new world the Exif found and converted to their faith, Ghidorah was fed a new planet. Ghidorah’s main power is Super Gravity which it uses in multiple ways. The most basic is by encircling at its target with its neck and increasing the gravity in the area until it’s destroyed. This power also seems to play a part in how the creature travels between dimensions as it’s heads always manifest through singularities it creates. While not shown, this power is stated to be able destroy planets. It’s other prominent power is space time distortion, likely related to it’s gravity powers. This manifests in a number of ways. Firstly while Ghidorah can be seen with the naked eye, the monster is invisible to technology aside from it’s gravitational anomalies. It’s also intangible to physical contact but can make contact with objects in our reality. When Godzilla Earth attacked the super monster, his beams curved or were reflected away from Ghidorah. Interestingly according the energy read outs the attack’s passed through Ghidorah. Ghidorah also uses this power when feeding as it was able to drain the energy and heat from Godzilla Earth’s body as fast as he could generate it. Ghidorah also has some electrical properties as it’s body generated blots of energy powerful enough to damage a spaceship and when it manifested on earth there was increased electrical activity in the atmosphere. However while practically unstoppable, the God of the Void is not without a weakness. Ghidorah cannot manifest into our reality without something to anchor him. In this case an Exif Bead and a person filled with great hate. If the bead/or the host is destroyed, Ghidorah becomes subject to our reality’s laws. In this state the monsters manifestation is very fragile and easy to destroy, which will force it back into the void. That said it may be possible for Ghidorah to manifest without the bead for as the Exif say... ”As long as you have hate in your heart... Ghidorah will be watching you.”

    Archanfel versus (The Second Round)

I’m not familiar with MK’s comic book law but going by all the games, Raiden has no power feats that I’m aware that would put him on Arch’s level. The most he’s done physically is smash though bridges and buildings while his most powerful lightening ability was a suicide attack that obliterated the Dragon King’s temple. I dare say he’d be hard pressed to beat any of the regular Zoalords, let alone Arch.

    Help with getting into Gundam

Ok so for years I've put off getting into Gundam for several reasons. Mainly this was because I found the entire franchise so... daunting. Gundam is considered to be one of the biggest names in anime, if not the biggest, it's also a colossal franchise with tones of series, timelines and spin-offs. It seemed like a pure headache to get into but I'd like to try. But there are a few things I want to know. 1) I was going to start with the original gundam and work my way from there, is that the best idea? 2) Are there any parts of the franchise that's hard to come by for us western audiences. 3) Is there a lot of manga tie in stuff I'd have to hunt down? I'll also admit I had a little look at some of the mechs and this beauty really caught my eye. Edit: Having looked up the devil gundam a little more, without spoilers, I have another question. Is it possible to watch G Gundam without having watched any other gundam series first.

    Shin Ultraman

Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, co-directors of the 2016 smash hit “Shin Godzilla,” are teaming up again to make the film “Shin Ultraman.” https://cosmicbook.news/shin-ultraman-godzilla-evangelion We don't have any info on if this will be tied to Shin Godzilla or not at this time, but Toho his helping to develop the film.
  8. So the Super Manga is still going and we've got details on the next arc. After the fight with Broly, Goku and Co are back to life as usual until one day a group of people attempt to kidnap Buu. These people are from the Galactic Patrol, the group Jaco works for, and theyare doing this because they need the help of the Grand Supreme Kai Buu absorbed long ago. Long befor the battle with Kid Buu, the Grand Supreme Kai sacrificed a large amount of his godly power to trap a villain and placed him in the Galactic patrols custody. He was to be executed for his crimes but this could not be done. This prisoner has now escaped. This being is Moro, a sorcerer with the power to drain entire worlds of their lifeforce and feed upon it.

While waiting for my next round of Gundam series I decided to break out one of Tomino’s older works. Zambot 3. The basic plot is that a group of kids are piloting a giant mech left for them by there alien ancestors to fight of the evil gaizok and their “mega-boosters”. What makes Zambot 3 stand out from the crowed is that it’s o e of the first deconstruct of the genre. It shows why it not a good idea to let a bratty pre-teen pilot a giant robot plus all of the conflict has consequences. Cities are destroyed, people are killed and all of it sticks. Nothing gets magically fixed by the next episode. As a result the protagonists become persecuted and blamed for what’s going on. There’s even a pretty dark part we’re the gaizok start turning people into remote control bombs. Needless s to say this show was way ahead of its time.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Netflix is developing a prequel series to Jim Henson's 1982 fantasy film, The Dark Crystal. Titled The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, this 10-episode prequel series takes place many years before the film and follows the story of three Gelfling who, after discovering the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, set out on a journey to save the world of Thra. The show will feature creatures created by Brian Froud, the original film's creature designer, and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

I’ve generally done my best to keep away from spoilers but I had share this info. So it turns out that in the series we will get to see some new members of the Skeksis. SkekMal the Hunter He considered himself a sportsman, though in truth he was a brutal killer, feared even by his own kind for his wild nature. He captured his prey through all manner of traps, and bore a scar across his face, which he concealed with a 'spirit-like' mask. He was very fast, having the ability to dodge arrows and disappear into the trees. Few gelfling knew about him, as he typically ate his prey, though his feats did become the source of fearsome legend. His counterpart is UrVa the Archer. SkekLach the Collector Originally the Tithe Master, he became the Collector when the Skeksis began hunting gelflings for there essence. He is a master tactician with his eye on the throne. His counterpart is UrSen the Monk

    Help with getting into Gundam

Thanks for the info, its not something that would have ruined the series for me but it good to know it’s not going to turn into something overly predictable either. Im really liking toward to Zeta but that’s going to a little ways off. Sine I’m following the U.C. timeline in rough chronological order I won’t be watching it till September. After 0079, my copy of 08th MS Team showed up and I finished it at the weekend. Currently watching MS IGLOO. The series on the August hit list are Thunderbolt, War in the Pocket and Star Dust Memory. That sounds... interesting.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 Coming West in 2019

Not shore what I'd be playing. I'd probably go for the support classes given my love of heavy ranged weapons, and because I like playing as the bad guys I'll probably end up using Zeon MS's to begin with. Looking at whats on offer early on, the MS-06K Zaku Cannon is what I may end up using when I start out.

    Help with getting into Gundam

So I’ve finished the series today and everything I said before still stands. Gundam is awesome. It’s characters, plot, politics, backstory, battles and mechs are all wonderful. As I watched the series I looked up all the mechs on the Gundam wiki, skipping spoilers, and it reminds me of reading up all the zoanoid data filed but better given how much detail is put into how these things work. There is one thing I’m a little mixed on. Newtypes. Now I had heard of them via the SRWs games but never really payed attention. Given that Gundam is know as “real robot” I assumed this was something that cropped up later to keep things interesting. But imagine my surprise when the series hints of them early on, names them third of the way in and has them actively having superhuman abilities. Now how this series makes use of them is not an issue, it feels like something ripe for abuse. Kind of like being force sensitive or super saiyan. Great ideas that end up become an overused crutch for the franchise to lean on. Or maybe I’m just being jaded.

10 episodes in and I gotta say... I was a total Moron for not watching this sooner. Given the time it was made the shows writing puts all the giant robot shows of the 70s to shame. It’s not quite as grim dark as Ideon (which came out the year after if I’m not mistaken) but has depth and darker elements. Animation wise while it’s dated by today’s standards, having spent years watching series from this era I can say Gundam was very well animated for its time. It still suffers from the weaknesses of this era’s style but far less then a lot of shows that come to mind. Im also seeing why Char is so popular. Such a charismatic and intelligent antagonist, it’s little wonder he stole the show.

    Help with getting into Gundam

It's a super mecha show from 1980. It takes a lot of ques from Gundam with more complex story telling and themes. The series the conflict between humanity and the Buff Clan, a group of human aliens. The Buff Clan are searching for something they call the Ide and arrive on a human colony planet. The humans have been studying the ruins of what they call the "Sixth Civilisation" and had found three vehicle relics and a spaceship. A member of the Buff Clan rushes to the planet in search of the Ide, which results in the human military getting into an altercation with retravel team sent to get them back. At the same time a boy named Cosmo Yuki, son of one of the arachnologists, and his friends try to use the relic vehicles to escape the conflict and inadvertently cause them to combine into a giant robot. They are able to fight of the retrieval team but the Buff Clan then launch a full scale assault on the colony which forces them to go on the run, using the relic ship to escape. So far the story has revolved around the humans constantly fleeing the Buff Clan and using the robot, which they call "Ideon" to fight them off. There have been several attempt to broker some kind of peace but misunderstanding, accidents and hot tempered individuals on both sides have only served to further set the two races against each other. The Ideon itself is noteworthy because it's considered the first of the Godly or All-Powerful mechs, such as EVA Unit 01 and Gurren Lagann. While it did not display this power at first, in fact most of it's original weapons were missle pods and cannons the humans installed on it, from what I've read it' eventual power far outstripped any other super robots at the time and is still a contender for one of the most powerful mecha ever.

Again thanks everyone for your advice. I’ve recently finished Aura Battler Dunbine and am now watching Space Runaway Ideon. While not part of the Gundam Franchise, from my understanding they were created by the same person and have similur themes and tones, despite being Super Robot series. They both pretty much convinced me that Gundam is going to be more then worth it.
