So what piece of literature has been catching your eyes as of late? Could be anything from a good ole novel to a nice manga series.

For me lately I have been switching back and forth a lot. For novels I have been reading The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, Dune, The Stand, and I have just finished Meditations on First Philosophy: in Which the Existence of God and the Distinction of the Soul from the Body are Demonstrated. For mangas I have been reading Guyver, Naruto, Attack on Titan, and Soul Eater.

The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger is a great book to read.

Catcher in the rye, a fine book it is. I have a copy gracing my bookshelf. I've read a lot of books but by far, my favorite is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

Currently I'm reading Game of Thrones book 5, a Dance with Dragons. To anyone who's waiting on the HBO series, dare not cross me, or I will tell you who dies next. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I find the Silmarillion to be funny, because it contained all three volumes of the Lord of the Rings novel in just a few pages. Great read though. Also, Dune, best scifi book I've read, but somewhat disappointed that it wasn't finished by frank herbert himself. I haven't read the last 2 book written by his son as I find that he strayed too far from the concept of his father.

Been catching up on a backlog a novels I've got. I reading Predator - South China Sea (the best of the new pred novels from what I've read so far) and I've got Alien - Out of the Shadows lined up next.

Manga whise I'm reading Toriko, Guyver and One Piece. They resently realised the last chapter of the 3rd volume of Violence Jack so I'll have to get stuck into that as well as a few other Go Nagai manga I keep meaning to read.

I've read alot of the Alien novels. Some of them are really good and some of them are really boring. The ones that are boring have characters that are just so uninteresting and they're in a situation that wasn't as bad as the other author's cast. Some of the books are just dialogue and less subject matter about the crew or the marines getting mauled or taken to the hive or they spend the entire book running from the company.

Personly I've enjoyed most of the books, Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum, Female War, Labyrinth and Music of the Spears are the best in opinion. (Music of the Spears is my favourite)

alienfrt.jpg

Genocide, Alien Harvest, Rogue and Berserker I enjoyed reading but they fall short compered to the others.

I really dislike the seconed series of Alien novels. Original Sin just bored me and its linked to Alien Reserection (you deside whats worse), DNA War feels like a poor mans Genocide although I did like some of the characters, Cauldron I'm never reading again or I'll have an aneurysm, Steel Egg was ok but some things in it Ididn't like, Criminal Enterprise is a boring as Predator South China Sea is Good and No Exite I can't even get half way through the book much less finish it (and I did try.....TWICE).

Hopfully the new novels will be better.

I don't read a ton of fiction (though I've read the Twilight novels), but right now I'm mostly reading some automotive books that I have at home, mostly before I got to sleep at night.

Star Wars novels X-Wing: Wraith Squadron and it's sequal X-Wing: Ironfist

Just a fantastic expansion into star wars at least as far as commando/fighter pilots are concerned. One of the few novels to make me cry.

Have those Star Wars novel been invalidated due to the release of episode 1-3?  I remember reading somewhere that after the release of those three movies, a lot of the other star wars media have been treated as unofficial.  Or were they only talking about stories that takes place before episode 4?

When I've been in the book stores like Barnes and Noble, The Star Wars section is always over flowing with fan-fiction,comics, and the novels. One of the biggest sections in the whole place.

I figured Star Wars wouldn't be as popular today. Its old. Its still going. Some stuff that is popular for its time just fades out. But Star Wars seems to still have a huge following.

I like fantasy fiction. I really enjoyed some of the Dragon Lance book series novels. Those are fun to read.

Fifty shades of grey. Yes I read the book. The so called mommy porn. But didn't get to read the second and third book. One is good enough for me. Didn't find much substance in the book so never bothered to read the rest. I just don't get what other women see in this book. I mean, sure, a jaw dropping handsome guy who is filthy rich wants to bang your brains out. Doesn't that make them kinda shallow?

It's still a fantastically written couple of books. besides there haven't been invalidated yet. The plot still fits with the prequels and original trilogy. Any canon issues will come from the new trilogy being planned.

It's also got one of the most pompous (albeit brilliant) villains in the star wars mythos. The best thing about it is the mix of action, humor, and tragedy. A really rare blend done right. Yub, yub, Commander

I've heard a lot about that book. I heard they were considering making a film on it.

Not considering.  They are already done making it.  Already at post-production last I heard.  It's tentatively due February 2015.  Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) was supposed to play Christian Grey, but was replaced by Jamie Dornan.  If I may say, Charlie Hunnam fits a better Christian Grey than Jamie Dornan.

So, is the book like a soft porn about some rich dude that goes around sleeping with women all of the time? If that's the case I can see why girls would want to read it.

Not exactly, it's about this virgin girl who have the hots for this rich handsome guy, and fantasizes about him doing dirty stuffs to her. The guys has some issues, like asking a girl to sign a contract if he ever dates them. It tells the story from the girls perspective about how the guy is wooing her. The guy gives her a fricking audi.

Hi everyone.

I took my anxiety medication yesterday, and soon after I took it, I went to sleep. Hence, I'm going to start taking it at night before I go to sleep.

So I got up just before 7:00 this morning, washed the dishes, started a fire, and made grandma her breakfast. Now I'm waiting for my parents to come out and drop off some stuff.

I haven't felt well the past couple of days. Some of it might be me adjusting to my new medication, but I also didn't eat much of anything yesterday, but at least I have something in me now, so at least I don't feel as nauseated as earlier.

I do plan on working on fan fic later on after I look up a few things later on. I'm planning on taking a break from here after my parents leave to work on something else and maybe take a nap.

I'll be back later :)
