You know what sucks about this day and age? Every company wants 3+ years of experience from college grads.  Guess who doesn't have that: me.  I've been looking for jobs since graduation, and I've been rejected ever single time.  HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET EXPERIENCE WHEN NO ONE WILL GIVE ME A CHANCE?!!  Effing corporate butt monkeys!  Even internships want some experience in a resume.  I'm to the point of starting my own graphic design business online and do free-lance projects while also building up my YouTube channel.

*sigh*....Well, at least my playlist for Breath of the Wild is complete until I get around to the DLC, and I'm picking up Animal Parade again until I find another game to do a "let's play" video of.

Like some of the members have said here, never work for free. In my experience It devalues you as you'll be seen to "work for anything". When you do chose a career it's very hard to get that first job but eventually you will. You're going down the right path by if you can't work for someone do work yourself and show off what you can do. I was an avid follower of what Blizzard have done for years, and a number of people who work for them did so by doing things like their own videos etc and effectively wowing the developers there to get work.

I know from experience that interviews are like a odd game where you need to be positive about everything. Even if you hated your last job, don't ever admit it and find whatever you can to shine a positive light on it. e.g. worked in a coffee shop try and convince the owner to show off some of your art and develop there webpage.

Hell for me, I'd a degree in IT Management and was living in England, the first job I got there was working in the local jobcentre (the place were you go when looking for work and to sign on for unemployment). They were more interested in my work experience in working in a Kebab House in Wales than my degree because I knew how to deal with drunks..... Next thing I knew it kicked off a sequence of jobs that ultimately led me back into IT Support work. Life is weird like that, but keep positive and you'll get here.

Thanks, guys!  (And the word is freelance like a freelance journalist.)

I recently moved in with my boyfriend since I've started working on his shift, so I haven't been able to do much aside work my butt off.  Night shift is not agreeing with me; can't do much during the night.  This job feels draining at this point, but I do need the cash to survive.  Hopefully something better will turn up or I can get enough space made to set up my digital design equipment to get the ball rolling.

Lately I've been trying to get on full time at the company I'm currently working at....for the past three months......and they keep giving bull**** excuses to not hire me.  "Oh we'll consider you later for something you are qualified for..." they say while hiring an imbecile off the streets that doesn't know what the hell they're doing!  I know my dad wants me to get on there, but this is getting ridiculous to where I might need to send an email to the CEO about this crap as the managers are breaking corporate policy by not hiring a temp that has been working for them for over 5 years!  It doesn't help that Dad thinks I'm not trying enough to get noticed even when it's blatantly in his face that management doesn't want me as a full time employee.  I'm just done with this!  I'd rather follow my boyfriend back to our hometown and find work there over staying up here and never get taken seriously as a potential full timer.

On the flip side, I'm taking up an old hobby to help relieve stress and get out of the apartment for a bit: roller skating.  I use to skate around the kitchen as a little kid before I outgrew my skates and Dad married she-who-shall-not-be-named (biggest mistake in his life) who tried to get me into 'girly' things and 'outgrow' comic books.  Everyone here knows neither of those things she tried to make me do happened, and I'm a happy otaku with an amazing boyfriend that loves me for being me.

I recently found out that Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a live action movie...by Sony...the same company that gave us the Emoji movie..... I feel soooooo much dread about this, it ain't funny.  HOLLYWOOD, STOP DOING THIS TO MY CHILDHOOD HEROES!!  YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH WITH THE X-MEN!  At least don't make it on par to the Super Mario Bros movie; I don't think anyone could handle another disaster like that

Yesterday, I closed my Etsy shop.  I've completely lost the drive and energy to keep it up and not make a profit off of it.  My passions lay elsewhere, so that's what I'm going to pursue now.  I'll still keep crafting for others, just not to make money anymore.

Another year is coming to a close.  A lot has happened, but it was an exciting year.  Hopefully the new year will be just as exciting if not better.

I've recently gotten back into collecting trading cards, namely Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.  Who knows, I might try my hand at competitive dueling in Yu-Gi-Oh sometime; I find it to be more strategic than the Pokemon card game.  I've also been playing the new Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Links on my computer as well and having a ball on it.

Who would've thought roller skating could be so rejuvenating for the soul? A few days ago, I went skating with my brother and sis-in-law at the local roller rink.  We had a blast, especially me since I loved roller skating as a kid and still do now.  SIL and I are making plans for a girls night at the rink this coming weekend too; we both just wished they were open at more times than just Friday and Saturday evenings (though I can't blame the owners for doing this with how bad the economy went these past few years).

I'm out hunting for a job again, outside of the factory environment.  Management at my current work place has gone full blown retarded that would even have an average idiot wonder "what the hell are they smoking?".  All common sense has gone out the window and us temps are now being treated like dirt.  It doesn't help that they plan to expand the place beyond the corporation's standards instead of updating the machinery to produce less waste ergo get our product numbers up.  There's rhyme or reason to their 'logic', so much that I've just had enough and started looking elsewhere to get out of my dead-end-job.

I've got my recording setup moved to my boyfriend's apartment!  I can start recording games again, but it's gonna be limited to my Switch and PC libraries due to being in a small living space.  I did a test recording using YuGiOh Duel Links and found that VR games do not record well, so there goes 1/3 of my library.

Do yal have any suggestions? I've got Super Mario Odyssey (Switch), Sonic Forces (Switch), Stardew Valley (PC), World's Dawn (PC), Night in the Woods (Switch), and Sonic Mania (Switch).

I think I have a crafting-addiction problem.  I recently got into bead loom jewelry making and am filling up a shoe box with bracelets I've made to sell at an upcoming convention (though I really can't complain too much since I'v been getting beads as birthday/Christmas gifts for the past 20 years and have a HUGE stockpile of beads now that's just been sitting in my closet collecting two decades worth of dust).  I know my old college professors joked about me taking up so many crafting hobbies, but I'm starting to think I need like a Crafters Anonymous group intervention or something.

I had a very.....odd dream the other night.

I was in a Legend of Zelda game, with N64 graphics, and I was fighting a corrupted Link, and I was using masks from Majora's Mask against him.  On top of that, when wearing the transformation masks, I could equip the regular items (that normally can't be used while wearing those particular masks) into my yellow arrow slots and they'd act as a "power boosts" for the mask attacks.  (Example: As a goron, I equipped the fire and ice arrows, and my goron punches became fire or ice punches.) It was odd and cool, but when I woke up at 3 in the damn morning my brain decided to continue the story and keep me up.

I have no idea where this even came from.  I haven't even played the N64 games in years.

Well, I've finally quit my job.  I'll be moving here in a few days after Thanksgiving with my boyfriend.  We're ready for a change in pace, and our hometown is where the greener pasture is right now.

Many of my coworkers and Mars employees said they'll miss me and my BF.  I'll certainly miss them, but not the place and the management.  Seriously, management there can suck a bag of dongs for all I care; they were willing to hire drug addicts who got caught just a week after starting over one of their most reliable temp workers that's worked there for over 6 years!  Screw that!

In any case, my BF and I are relieved to not be there anymore.  I know I'll be catching up on Christmas gift making during the move and job hunting in our hometown area (I'll be working as a temp again in the mean time while searching).
