I read in the FAQ that the only reason 1-7 isn't hosted on this site is because of a lack of images. I found the first seven vo,umes in italian. PLEASE TRANSLATE THESE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

OK, I've checked the quality of one of the files.
I appreciate that some people want to read, but i will not agree to use these scans, the quality of these is horrific.
I appreciate you bringing these to my attention for sure! thank you
however, they are not suitable.
I believe that it would put people off guyver if we used these.
If they see something this ugly they will not want to support guyver.

are some chinese scans of 1-7 vols. And they are much better, I think.

The first link - is much better than the second (mainly I checked the 5 volume).

Forgive me, I don't know anything about this scans. either they are official or from scanlators - I don't know.

thanks cannibal, I am confident that these will be suitable.
I wonder why we have not thought of getting them from a chinese site before... I am sure there must have been a reason...
but for the moment I cannot think of any reason why they cannot be used.

yeah, the only slight drawback is that the chinese people have replaced some of the sound effects.
in japanese, I think people may have grown accustomed to those as a staple of guyver, but in chinese it does loook pretty odd. so I replaced them with an english sound effect reflecting the japanese.
I was tempted to put the japanese characters back in, but i thought, maybe people would prefer to get some impression.

ha ha, well I doubt i'll be using any of them

i'm only adding in SFX where the chinese replaced the japanese ones. because otherwise it would be a lot of work!
i'm playing it safe and sticking to hte romanisation of the japanese SFX.

additional,
I've found that the chuiangyi translations are also, not amazing.
the chapter titles is what i'm basing this on, they blatantly miss out information.
for example, chapter 4, chuangyi has translated as "WHO'S THE THIRD SHADOW?!"
I have translated as "CLOAKED IN DARKNESS!! SHADOW OF 'THE THIRD'?!"

It would be good if we could get these retranslated because the Chuang yi ones are pretty damned lazy I think, they're full of schoolboy errors.

yeah, well I'm going through the first book at the moment.
I got to halfway thru cleaning the text off.
I got my japanese volume 1 and once i done the cleaning, I think i'll go thru with the chuangyi, the VIZ and the japanese and see how it matches up.
Then put in whatever i think is best.
this is a time consuming method but it's the best i can think of for now.
we don't have japanese raws and i am not scanning in my japanese as it's an original tokuma shoten.

it'll improve my japanese anyway.

I wouldn't mind at some point getting books 8 and 9 rescanlated 8 especially it looks like it was done from a photocopy.

Volume 9 wasn't the best quality, either. And I agree with the assessment of vol. 8, SE.

aye, volume 8 could do with re-translation too.

some of those volumes were done when there was no such thing as the guyver advocacy team.
standards were introduced later.

just fyi, I have finished cleaning the first book.

don't know how i am gonna do the dialogue. i might end up translating the lot by myself, or i might end up just copying viz or chuangyi.
i'll see how it goes.
